Summary of Digital Portfolio Management life-cycle management
The Digital Portfolio Management (DPM) Workspace in ServiceNow supports managing solutions through the plan-build-run life-cycle model. It centralizes data from various ServiceNow products, enabling you to manage and monitor services, applications, and products that you own or impact your business. Life-cycle Management Phases
- Plan: Plan your solutions by reviewing roadmaps, dependencies, backlogs, ideas, demands, projects, and improvement initiatives within the solution’s organizational context.
- Build: Track work progress on your solutions, including epics and stories during sprints, project statuses with percent complete metrics, overdue projects or milestones, and critical issues. Monitor changes and improvement initiatives with status views and upcoming schedules.
- Run: Monitor operational performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as availability, incidents, customer satisfaction, subscriber counts, and impact alerts. Assess deployments, hardware, software models, technology risks, and risk remediation tasks using data from Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) modules.
Key Features
- Integration with DevOps Insights and DevOps Change Workspace to view flow and accelerate metrics for scrum and waterfall development, providing visibility into software development life cycles. (Admin configuration required to enable these features.)
- Performance Analytics indicators offer historical performance data and KPI tracking to gauge solution performance against commitments. (Standard Performance Analytics licenses provide limited access.)
- Configurable life-cycle phases and records allow you to tailor the workspace to match your organizational processes and workflows.
- Alerts and monitoring tools help you stay informed about ongoing impacts and solution health in real time.
Configuration and Administration
Administrators can customize the DPM environment and user interface using configuration settings and the UI Builder tool to align with specific business needs. Enabling DevOps metrics requires setting system properties as documented in the configuration guides.
