  • When you create a filter, you can use it just on the dashboard you create it in, or save it to the library. From the library, others can add it to their own dashboards. Saving filters to the library requires the analytics_filter_admin role.

    Before you begin

Role required: dashboard_admin, or you must be the dashboard owner or have had editing rights shared with you.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to the dashboard with the filter that you want to edit.
    2. Select Edit.
    3. Select the filter that you want to edit and select the More action () icon.
    4. Choose one of the following options.
      OptionDescription
Configure Edit the filter options as described in:
Add to library Adds the filter to the filter library so that any user can use it on other dashboards. Requires the analytics_filter_admin role.
Edit in Designer Opens the filter outside of the dashboard in the Filter designer for configuration.
Duplicate Makes a copy of the filter on the same dashboard for you to edit.
Open record Opens a form so that you can examine and edit the filter's JSON code.
      Note:
This option is only available to users with the admin role.
Delete Removes the filter from the dashboard. If the filter is saved to the library, it remains in the library to be reused. If the filter is used on other dashboards, you see a message that those dashboards may be affected.
    5. Select Save to save your changes and continue editing or select Exit editing mode to finish editing.
When you save changes to a filter, you have two choices:
      • Save the changes only for the current dashboard.

This action creates a new version of the filter. If there’s a version of the filter in the library, that version doesn’t change.

      • Save changes to the library.

When you make this selection, the new version of the filter is enabled on all dashboards that use it.
