Visualization of rack
Summarize
Summary of Visualization of Rack
Rack visualization in the Telecommunications Network Inventory application allows users to graphically represent a datacenter rack. This feature enables the observation of equipment and shelves loaded into front and rear accessible racks, ensuring each item is placed in its designated slot. Key functionalities include monitoring rack utilization, pending change tasks, and optimizing equipment placement.

Key Features
- View Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for rack utilization.
- Monitor the number of pending change tasks.
- Explore KPIs for various equipment types to optimize placements.
- Toggle between front and rear views of the rack.
- Access details on reserved units and users.
- Navigate directly to the rack form from the canvas.
- View lifecycle stages of equipment.
- Check available and used slot counts.
- Switch between default and dark views in preferences settings.
Prerequisites
To create a rack, you must:
- Create or select a model in the equipment holder model associated with the Equipment Rack Model categories.
- Create or select a relationship in the network model relationships with the Rack to Slot Relationship type to define the number of rack slots.
- Create or select a template with the rack model in the inventory model field for the rack.
Next Steps
To visualize and manage a rack:
- Initiate rack creation based on the rack model and rack slots from the template.
- Add or remove equipment or shelves from the rack as needed.
For detailed procedures, refer to the relevant sections on creating change requests from the Network Inventory Workspace.
Using rack visualization in the Telecommunications Network Inventory application, you can visualize a rack in the canvas. Here you can observe the loading of equipment and shelves into the front and rear accessible racks, with each item placed in its designated slot.
