Notifications in Advanced Approval Management
In Advanced Approval Management, as an approval request moves through the approval process, notifications about the status of the approval request are sent automatically to approval requesters and approvers.
System notifications for approvals
Advanced Approval Management uses several system notifications for approval status updates:
- Notify approval req requester: Notification informing requesters of status changes in an approval request.
- Approval Request for Approver: Notification informing approvers when a request is rejected by other approvers in the same approval step and also when a request has been recalled.

Notification channels
Approvers and requesters can receive approval notifications on different notification channels, such as email or push notifications on the ServiceNow Mobile app. They must set up their own notification preferences to receive them on the appropriate channels.
