The ServiceNow®
Legal Hold Notification application helps organizations manage their legal obligation to preserve relevant information when a legal hold is issued. It enables you to create legal hold notifications, add custodian
details, and send notices to preserve legal hold-related documents. Legal Hold Notification is a new application in the Yokohama release.

## Legal Hold Notification highlights for the Yokohama release {#lg-hold-notif-new-rn__lg-hold-notifi-rn-new-highlights}

* Streamlined legal hold life cycle: Streamline the legal hold workflow by enabling you to create legal hold matters, assign custodians, issue notices, track acknowledgments, and ensure compliance throughout the process.
* Enhance custodian engagement by sending them legal hold notifications and reminders to ensure timely acknowledgment and accountability throughout the legal hold process.
* Reduce legal risk compliance with a controlled closure process. When the legal hold is officially closed, the Legal Hold Notification application stores detailed information about the preserved data.
