The post-assessment actions feature in Smart Assessment Engine enables you to automate actions based on assessment responses. The template designers can predefine actions using a rule engine, such as updating fields, creating follow-up
assessments, or generating other records.

## Before you begin

* A subflow must be available and mapped to the assessment template category for which you want to configure post-assessment actions. For more information about how to create and build subflows, refer to [Create a subflow in Workflow Studio](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=create-subflow&version=yokohama&pubname=yokohama-build-workflows&ft:locale=en-US) and [Building subflows](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=subflows&version=yokohama&pubname=yokohama-build-workflows&ft:locale=en-US).
* To make actions available in post-assessment workflows, link the subflow to the appropriate template category. For more information, refer to [Link subflow to template category](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/0tVx9pOEvPG~6G4dFKn6Fw "Linking a subflow to action categories ensures that this action becomes available in the action set. Template designers can configure these actions based on specific criteria to trigger automatically once the assessment is completed.").
* The Reusable Impact Framework plugin (sn_impact_fwk) and Post Assessment Actions for Smart Assessments plugin (sn_smart_imp_auto) must be installed.{#configure-post-assessment-actions__li_c43_5d2_ngc}
