# Create connection and authenticate credential

# Create connection and authenticate credential with Everbridge {#ariaid-title1}

As a first step, establish a connection and authenticate your login credentials with
an Everbridge instance to send out a notification using a delivery channel. This connection
not only helps you to send but also receive communications.

## Before you begin

Role required: BCM admin (sn_bcm.admin)

## Procedure

1. Navigate to Business ContinuityEverbridge Notification ConfigurationConnection \& Credential Alias.
2. Click the Create New Connection \& Credential related link.
3. On the form, fill in the fields.

   | Field | Description |
   |-|-|
   | Connection Name | Name of the connection. Enter Everbridge Connection. |
   | Connection URL | Everbridge API base address. |
   | Organization ID | Organization ID of Everbridge. Note: You can get the organization ID from the Everbridge instance. |
   | Incident Template ID | Unique ID of Everbridge incident template. Note: You can get the ID from the Everbridge instance. |
   | Credential Name | Name of Everbridge credential. |
   | Username | User name of API user in Everbridge. |
   | Password | Password to validate and establish connection. |

4. Click Create.
