Generate Authority to Operate (ATO) artifacts from the Authorization package overview record page in the CAM
Workspace as a Microsoft Word
file.

## Before you begin

The

Word plugin (Document designer) must be set
up.

For more information, see [Configuring ATO artifacts report templates using the Document Designer with Word add-in](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/ufCwpdir5PPJoxt4lNlS_w "Configure the ATO artifacts report templates using the ServiceNow Document Designer with Word add-in.").

Verify using which report type you want to generate the respective ATO artifacts.

For more information, see [Continuous Authorization and Monitoring system properties](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/0K3_6zAZ0xCGr09990W19w#cam-system-properties "Default properties are set with activation of CAM plug-in.").

Role required: sn_irm_cont_auth.authorization_official, sn_irm_cont_auth.authorization_official,
sn_irm_cont_auth.info_system_sec_officer, sn_irm_cont_auth.system_owner, or sn_irm_cont_auth.admin.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesCAM Workspace.
2. In the primary navigation, select the lists icon (![Lists icon.]()).
3. From the Authorization packages in the RMF list, select the authorization package record for which you want to generate the reports.
   Important:
To generate ATO artifacts, the reports must be in the following state:
   {#generate-ato-artifacts-steps-cam-ws__simpletable_khg_4dk_b2c__entry__2}

   | States | ATO artifacts |
   |-|-|
   | Implement, Assess, Authorize, or Monitor | * SSP * POA\&M {#generate-ato-artifacts-steps-cam-ws__ul_osg_5c4_c2c} Note: * The Repetition property com.snc.word_doc_api.max_repetitions in the Document designer plugin must be set to 200 to generate an SSP report successfully. For more information, see [Reference information for Document designer](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/ShctB5k7wtjNk0Xnc4vEtA "There are several properties that get installed with the Document designer plugin. These properties help to control the various aspects of how the plugin works."). * For authorization packages with medium or high data limits, the number of records must be increased to 200 in the template configuration to generate the SSP report successfully. For more information, see [Create content configurations for CAM](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/Hg1Yu5hIPrh8DPMHedm14w "Define the data that you want to view or fetch, whether it's a list of records or an aggregation when creating an ATO artifacts. For example, specify if you want to see a list of closed POA&M or the list of system elements. A maximum of 200 records can be fetched from any table."). {#generate-ato-artifacts-steps-cam-ws__ul_jfj_y2k_b2c} |
   | Assess, Authorize, or Monitor | * SAP * SAR {#generate-ato-artifacts-steps-cam-ws__ul_y3f_wh5_c2c} |
   | Authorize or Monitor | * ATO Letter * Executive Summary {#generate-ato-artifacts-steps-cam-ws__ul_oxs_ydk_b2c} |

4. To generate an SSP report for the package, select Generate SSP.
5. In the record header, select the drop-down action icon (![Drop-down actions icon]()) and generate an SSP, SAR, POA\&M, SAP, ATO letter, or Executive Summary report.
   * To generate an SSP report, select Generate SSP.
   * To generate an SAR report for the package, select Generate SAR.
   * To generate an POA\&M report for the package, select Generate POA\&M.
   * To generate an SAP report for the package, select Generate SAP.
   * To generate an ATO letter report for the package, select Generate ATO Letter.
   * To generate an Executive Summary report for the package, select Generate Executive Summary.

   {#generate-ato-artifacts-steps-cam-ws__choices_xdn_rzb_rdc}
6. Select Proceed.
After the Microsoft Word file is generated, a banner message states that the report has been generated successfully.
   Note:
When generating a report from an HTML template, the screen remains displayed after you select Proceed until the report is fully generated.

When generating a report from a Word template, the Proceed screen disappears, and the report generation takes place
   in the background.
7. In the Activity section, find the generated report.
The Microsoft Word document is also attached to the Authorization section of the package in the Details related list. You can also select the download icon next to the report to download the file.
8. Next to the .docx file, select the more actions icon (![More actions icon]()) and select Download.
   Important:
Verify that the pop-up blocker is turned off for the URL so the file downloads to your local repository automatically.

In the activity stream for the package, the report is attached with the timestamp and the name of the user who generated
   it.

To generate ATO artifacts for an authorization package using the HTML template, see the [Configurations Required to Enable Report Generation for Authorization Package in CAM Workspace \[KB1649486\]](https://hi.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB1649486) article in the Now Support
   Knowledge Base.
