Use a set of controls on the crisis map to display the alerts that are critical to
your asset locations.

## Before you begin

Role required: BCM admin or BCM Program Manager

## About this task

You can customize the crisis map to display the layers that you would like to see on
the map. Use the controls to view locations, employee locations, or core
companies.
Figure 1. Panel to control alert display

The search bar helps you to search the assets and locations. A set of zoom controls
helps you to zoom in and zoom out to focus on the area that has the information
shown in that layer. The layers help you to get additional details on the map. Use
the reset button to clear your control settings.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to Business ContinuityBusiness Continuity Workspace.
2. Click the map icon (![Crisis map icon]()).
The alerts section is on the left of the workspace and the map view is on the right.
3. Click the Search assets and locations field and enter a location or a datacenter that is impacted by an alert.
When you search for a location, a mixed list of your company results with the display value of the records along with their icons, and the Google map pin icons appears.

If you are not sure of both the employee locations or
datacenters, then use the Layers control.
4. To change the zoom level of the map and view specific areas, use the zoom control buttons, zoom-in (![Zoom-out icon.]()) and zoom-out (![Zoom-in icon.]()).
5. To select and display the assets such as asset locations, datacenters, or core companies on the map, click the layers icon (![Layers control icon.]()).
6. To clear the map of all the search results, click the reset icon (![Map reset icon.]()).
