When creating a new AI system or updating an existing one, publish the assessment templates before initiating the required assessments such as impact assessment and conformity assessment. You must publish an assessment
template so that the assessments can be initiated.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_grc_ai_gov.ai_risk_and_compliance_manager

## About this task

Two assessment templates are provided by default for the following assessments:

* AI impact assessment: The AI impact assessment ensures that your AI system is both effective and respectful of individuals' rights. By identifying and addressing potential impacts on privacy, non-discrimination, and other human rights, you can help ensure that your AI system complies with global regulations and frameworks, such as the EU AI Act and the NIST AI Risk and Compliance Framework. This helps your system operate ethically and responsibly in accordance with organizational AI policies.
* AI impact assessment for EU AI Act conformity assessment: The AI impact assessment for EU AI Act conformity assessment is a structured process used to evaluate whether an AI system complies with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), especially focusing on its risk classification and ensuring compliance with fundamental rights, safety, and transparency requirements. The purpose of this assessment is to ensure that high-risk AI systems do not pose harm to users, society, or the environment, and meet regulatory obligations according to the AI Act.
