## Summary of Workflow editor

The Workflow Editor in ServiceNow Yokohama Release is a user interface designed for creating and modifying workflows by arranging and connecting activities to automate business processes.
It supports managing multiple workflows simultaneously, building custom workflow activities, and leveraging existing activities as data sources.
Workflow creation requires theworkflowcreatorrole, while full management---including modification, deletion, and publishing---requires theworkflowadminrole.
The editor is accessed viaWorkflow \> Workflow Editor.

**Important:** The classic Workflow Editor is not fully supported in the Next Experience UI; for optimal user experience, use the Core UI.

## Welcome Screen

Upon opening, the editor displays the Welcome page listing active, published workflows. From here, users can open existing workflows, create new ones, or access workflow-related help resources. Filters allow viewing workflows based on publication status or checked-out status for the current user.

The **New Workflow** button enables creation of new workflows.

## Workflow Palette and Tabs

The palette organizes workflow activities and workflows into tabs for easy access:

* **Workflows:** Available workflow activities and subflows.
* **Core:** Standard workflow activities from the base system and orchestration components.
* **Packs:** Orchestration activities from downloaded packs and custom scoped activities (visible if orchestration plugin is enabled).
* **Custom:** Custom orchestration activities (visible if orchestration plugin is enabled).
* **Data:** Activities in the current workflow that output data, usable as inputs for other activities (visible if orchestration plugin is enabled).

If the Welcome page appears customized from previous versions, it can be reverted to the latest Yokohama version through System UI \> UI Pages by reverting the **workfloweditorwelcome** page to the Yokohama upgrade version.

## Workflow Canvas

The canvas is the main working area to create or edit workflows. Key elements include:

* **Canvas Tabs:** Manage multiple open workflows.
* **Title Bar:** Shows workflow name and status (e.g., Checked out or Published) and provides menu options for configuration, testing, and validation.
* **Palette Tabs and Palette:** Contain workflow activities and subflows to drag onto the canvas.

Activities are added by dragging them from the palette onto the canvas and connecting them to define workflow logic.

## Accessibility and Usability

The Workflow Editor includes keyboard navigation and accessibility features to support users with disabilities, ensuring broad usability across different user needs.
The Workflow Editor is an interface for creating and modifying workflows by arranging
and connecting activities to drive processes.
You can manage multiple workflows in the same screen, create custom workflow activities,
and use existing activities as data sources. Users with the workflow_creator role can create
workflows. Users with the workflow_admin role can create, modify, delete, and publish
workflows.
