Improve the effectiveness of your custom template by updating its contents or
properties in App Engine Studio (AES).

## Before you begin

Role required: admin, app_template_author

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllApp EngineApp Engine Studio.
2. Select the Template tab.
3. Modify different aspects of the template to make them more useful to your needs.

   | Choice | Procedure |
   | Update the template contents | 1. Point to the custom template, select the More actions icon ( ![More actions icon.]()), and select Edit Template. 2. Modify the custom template by editing data, experience, logic and automation, or security.    | Update the template properties | 1. Point to the custom template, select the More actions icon ( ![More actions icon.]()), and select Edit Properties. 2. Select General. 3. Modify aspects of the template. * To rename the custom template, update the Name field. * To rewrite the custom template description, update the Description field. * To replace the custom template logo, select Remove image and then add a new logo. {#manage-custom-template__ul_k5g_grf_qtb} 4.    | Update template sharing settings | 1. Point to the custom template, select the More actions icon ( ![More actions icon.]()), and select Edit Properties. 2. Select Sharing settings, and share the template in one of the following ways: 1. Share with some users or groups. 2. Share with all users and groups. {#manage-custom-template__ol_uzp_cvv_15b} 3.    | Update content on the Template details page | Note: Only templates created from scratch have a Template details page that you can edit. Templates created from existing templates don't have a Template details page to edit, so you aren't able to change items such as the header, tag line, or other template information. 1. Point to the custom template, select the More actions icon ( ![More actions icon.]()), and select Edit Properties. 2. Select Details page. 3. Update details about the template that help users understand its features and why they should choose this template for their application. 4.    | Delete the custom template | To delete the custom template, ensure you have administrator privileges or have permissions to delete. Select Delete template, type <kbd class="ph userinput">Delete</kbd> to confirm your choice, and select Delete. Note: To request delete permissions, contact your administrator. |
