# Explain and summarize code with Quick Actions {#ariaid-title1}

Get a summary of the code or a comprehensive explanation of its functionality.

## Before you begin

The summarize and explain features are only available with Azure OpenAI model provider. Make sure you turn them on. For more information, see [Enable Code Explain and Summarize](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/Iz1KfJzl5bl9oyTWIOnM1w "Enable the Code Explain and Code Summarize features by changing the default model of your instance from NowLLM to Azure OpenAI.").

Role required: now.assist.creator

## Procedure

1. Navigate to any script editor enabled with ServiceNow Otto for Code.
2. In the script editor, select a code and then select the Quick Actions button.  
3. Understand the purpose of the code by selecting Summarize code.  
4. Get a comprehensive explanation of the code's functionality by selecting Explain code in detail.
