Key Features
- Billing Troubleshooting: Compare MetricBase (Clotho) data with spend data for AWS, Azure, and GCP to identify and resolve billing discrepancies. Users can export comparison data as CSV for detailed analysis.
- AI Resource Spend Visibility: New Tag Category “AI Service” allows tracking of AI-related cloud spend across AWS, Azure, and GCP within the Machine Learning service category. Spend data can be filtered by cloud category, tag category, and tag values.
- Performance Improvements: Installation of the Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application alongside version 8.1 accelerates billing file processing and download speeds to handle high transaction volumes efficiently.
Important Upgrade Information
Upon upgrading to version 8.0, the new AI Service tag category is available for AWS, Azure, and GCP providers. The monthly Billing Download job now only executes from the current month forward. To access AI service spend data for prior months, users must manually run the Billing Download job.
Deprecations
- The Core UI interface is no longer supported; users should transition to the Cloud Cost Management Workspace for continued functionality.
- The Cloud Spend Dashboard has been replaced by the Asset Executive Workspace for KPI visibility.
- The Cloud Insights Billing application is being phased out and will no longer be available in the ServiceNow Store, though limited support remains.
Activation and Related Applications
Cloud Cost Management must be activated by requesting it via the ServiceNow Store. This application complements ServiceNow IT Asset Management and Software Asset Management products, which provide end-to-end asset lifecycle and software license management capabilities.

Important information for upgrading Cloud Cost Management to Xanadu
On upgrading to Cloud Cost Management 8.0 version, the new Tag Category AI Service is available for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) service providers. Because Cloud Cost Management executes the Billing Download job only from the current month onwards, the spend on AI services will be included only for the current month. If you want to view the billing details for the months prior to the current month, you must manually execute the Billing Download job. Once the Billing Download job is executed successfully, you can view the spend data of your AI services.

- View the total spend details for your AI services under the Machine Learning service category in your current billing download for AWS, Azure, and GCP. You can also filter your results by cloud category, tag category, and tag values.
- Manage high transaction volume efficiently by installing the Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application
- Process and download billing files quickly with improved data download speed by installing the Cloud Cost Management Infra Stack application in addition to Cloud Cost Management version 8.1.
Deprecations
- The Core UI interface for the Cloud Cost Management application is no longer deployed, enhanced, or supported. For continued access and functionality, transition to the Cloud Cost Management Workspace. For more information, see Cloud Cost Management Workspace.

- The Cloud Insights Billing application, which supports the Cloud Provisioning and Governance product with limited functionality, is being prepared for future deprecation. It will not be available on ServiceNow Store for download and installation but will continue to be supported.
Activation information
Activate Cloud Cost Management by requesting it from the ServiceNow Store. Visit the ServiceNow Store website to view all the available apps and for information about submitting requests to the store.
