## Overview of getting apps and trials {#getting-apps-trials__cf-using-parent-workflow}

Applications must be procured from the ServiceNow Store if any of the following scenarios apply:

* The application has custom terms and conditions that must be agreed to.
* The application requires a paid license or subscription.
* The application requires the provider's approval to install.

Apps and integrations on the ServiceNow Store are either available to purchase on a subscription basis or available at no additional cost. Paid apps, trials, and apps with custom terms and conditions must be procured from the ServiceNow Store before they can be installed on production instances.

Many apps provide a 30-day trial at no additional cost. The trial enables you to install the app on your non-production instances to determine whether you want to continue with procurement for production instances.

If a trial is available for an app, the listing has a Request 30-day trial option in the app listing and the app details page in the Application Manager shows the "Trial Available" state indicator.. Once an app has been procured, it's available to install from the Application Manager.
