# Allocate subscriptions

# Allocate subscriptions in Subscription Management {#ariaid-title1}

Give users entitlement to ServiceNow products by allocating subscriptions in Subscription Management.

## Before you begin

Role required: admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to Subscription Management in one of the following ways.
   * Navigate to AdminSubscription Management.
   * Navigate to AllSubscription ManagementSubscription Management.

2. Select a product with subscriptions that you want to allocate.
3. Allocate subscriptions by adding recommended groups based on role type.
   1. On the details page, select Add groups.
   2. Select the check box next to one or more groups.  
      The User group includes all user accounts in the `sys_user` table. The Active user group excludes users who haven't logged in to the instance in the last 365 days, users assigned Web service access only, or users with an empty User ID.
   3. Select Add groups.

## Result

Subscriptions are allocated to all group members that grant each member entitlement to use the product. Subscribed
users are updated during a daily scheduled job, so it might take up to a day for the changes to be reflected in Subscription Management.
