To export dashboards to PDF, a plugin and property are
needed.

## Before you begin

Role required: admin.

Activate the WebKit HTML To PDF plugin and configure the plugin to export homepages,
dashboards, and some reports as PDF documents.
Important:
The functionality found in homepages, arranging information from your instance to tell a story about your data, is found in dashboards on new instances. On upgraded instances with Next Experience enabled, users can view existing homepages if they have a direct URL, but they can't create or edit them. Responsive dashboards and Analytics Center dashboards take over homepage functionality.{#enable-pdf-export__deprecation}

Use the [Homepage
deprecation help tool](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/sZ4eOAUEpNkd1vzvOQzNIA "Support for homepage functionality is being phased out, and is not possible to create or edit homepages at all when Next Experience is enabled. Find all of your homepages in one place and convert them to dashboards, retire them, and restore retired homepages as dashboards.") to convert the homepages on your instance to responsive dashboards.{#enable-pdf-export__deprecation-tool}
For more information, see:

* [Dashboards in the Analytics Center](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/MtEFk23~E90D72~r~~RzeA "Dashboards are reusable canvasses containing data visualizations, filters, and other visual components.").
* [Working with responsive dashboards](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/LJMipZ5HbvFjX2G4myHg6A "Responsive dashboards enable you to share widgets such as reports and Performance Analytics visualizations in the classic environment. An easy-to-use drag and drop canvas helps you create, edit, and arrange content, and then share it with colleagues.").

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllSystem DefinitionPlugins.
2. Search for WebKit HTML to PDF.
   Select the plugin to open its form.
3. Click Activate/Repair.
   If the OAuth 2.0 plugin is not already active, the WebKit HTML To PDF plugin activates it as well. For more information, see [Activate a
   plugin](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=t_ActivateAPlugin&version=xanadu&pubname=xanadu-platform-administration&ft:locale=en-US).

## Result

Users can export dashboards to PDF to archive, print, or distribute.
