Your customer service managers can set up a household-member relationship among the members of one household by using the Customer Service Management application. The established relationship between the consumers in that household means that only the household members can access the install base items.

The household relationship can be used to assign responsibilities between two consumers within the same household with the Household Member Relationship table \[sn_customer_rel_household_member_relationship\]. This relationship gives
household members additional access to edit and update an install base item. To learn more about how to create a household relationship, see [Create a relationship between household members](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/ek_2Tdf8HIE94xNAtEbm~Q "Create a relationship between two consumers who are current members of the same household.").

Setting up a household-member relationship limits the access to the household members. Only the household members can access the household install bases.
After a household-member relationship is established between two consumers, the consumer with the authorized representative responsibility gains access to all the household install bases only when the primary consumer is the other member in the established household-member relationship.
Note:
The authorized representative gains access to the household install bases of the consumer that belongs to the same household.
