# Configure community content types

Configure content types, such as videos and blogs, for the community.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_communities.admin

## About this task

You can configure content types at both the community and forum
level. At the community level, content types are active by default. Based on your
requirements, you can deactivate content types.

## Procedure

1. To configure content types at the community level, navigate to CommunityAdministrationContent Types.
2. Click a content type.
3. To deactivate a content type, clear the Active check box.
4. Click Update.  
   The content type is no longer visible to the community.
5. To configure content types at the forum level, navigate to CommunityAdministrationForums.
6. Click a forum.
7. Click the Content Types related list.
8. In the Active column, double-click a row.
9. To activate a content type, select True.
10. To deactivate a content type, select False.
