Use the network topology in the Telecommunications Network Inventory application to view how the different elements in a network are organized and connected to one another.
To view the network topology, you must create the topology record either manually or using a "design and assign" function. To learn more, see:

* [Manually create a network topology](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/8eeBEKhpLrzaJ~vl70L1cw "Create a topology record for the network that you want to visualize in the organization of its network elements. By creating the network topology, you can visualize how the network elements are organized and connected to one another in the Telecommunications Network Inventory application.").
* [Create a network topology record by using design and assign](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/QKu9ux8bnBM2nsjIyx2j5A "Create a network topology record using the design and assign function in the Telecommunications Network Inventory application. By creating the network topology, you can visualize how the network elements are organized and connected to one another.").

* **[Viewing a network topology](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/bhBS3RGwRYA1SBg8zlwZrg)**
  View the details of a network topology and visualize how the network elements are organized and connected to one another. You can understand the detailed overview of the network infrastructure of the topology in the Telecommunications Network Inventory application.

**Related concepts**

* [Network topology](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/3EpR3i~HFbAiQ7_Iw9qvKg "The topology in the Telecommunications Network Inventory application graphically displays how the different elements in a network such as equipment, connections, and interfaces are organized and connected to one another. By using a topology, you get a bird's eye view to the network.")
