# Export models and templates

# Export models and templates {#ariaid-title1}

Export a selected inventory model or template records efficiently

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_ni_core.inventory_admin

## About this task

When you export a model or template by downloading a copy of it for offline reference. You can share the model or template with your team or migrate it to another instance.  
Note:  
When exporting a model or template with parent-child relationships, only the parent and its children are included. Siblings aren't exported.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesNetwork Inventory Workspace.
2. Select the list icon (![List icon.]()).
3. Go to any model or inventory template.
4. Select a desired record.
5. Select the options icon (![Options icon]()) and select Export.
6. On the Export window, select the desired file type to export the data.  
   You can export the file in the following formats:
   * Excel
   * CSV
   * JSON
   * PDF

7. On the Export window, select the desired delivery type.  
   You can select the following formats:
   * Download
   * Email

8. Select Export.
