# Configure watchdog

# Configure watchdog {#ariaid-title1}

Use the watchdog configuration page to create new or update existing watchdogs with
conditions that you want to specify. You can enable the notification for each watchdog, and
get notified when the conditions are met.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_sec_cmn.admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesSecurity Exposure Management Workspace.
2. Select Administration in the navigation pane.
3. Select Review on the Watchdogs tile.
4. Select the watchdog that you want to implement.
5. On the form, fill in the fields.

   | Field | Description |
   |-|-|
   | Name | Name of the watchdog. |
   | Active | Set the check box to true to enable the watchdog. |
   | Condition type | Choose from Filter or Script. |
   | Advanced condition | This field appears only when Script is selected from Condition type. |
   | Table | Select table to run the watchdog condition. |
   | Condition | Condition to evaluate the watchdog. |
   | Notify | Check box to notify the groups or users if the watchdog condition is met. |
   | Users | List of users to be informed if the watchdog condition is met. |
   | Groups | Group to be informed if the watchdog condition is met. |
   | Watch log ||
   | Watchdog | Reference to the watchdog table. |
   | Count | Number of records that meet the watchdog criteria. |
   | Notes | Additional notes for the watchdog logs. |

6. Select Update.
