# Refresh Vulnerability Response vulnerable items {#ariaid-title1}

The Update status related link is used to have vulnerable
items inspected to see if there are any additional vulnerable items that belong to a
remediation task. Use it if an update is warranted outside the scheduled
job.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_vul.vulnerability_write or, sn_vul.vulnerability_admin or sn_vul.admin (deprecated)

Persona and granular roles are available to help you manage what users and groups can see and do in the Vulnerability Response application. ## About this task

The Update status related link is only editable on the remediation task form in the Open or Under Investigation states, using a filter group or where the filter type is condition. This inspection is done regardless of the status of the Automatically refresh vulnerable items check box.

Starting with v22.0 of Vulnerability Response, the Update Status button is available in record view for remediation tasks in the Vulnerability Manager Workspace and IT Remediation Workspace.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllVulnerability ResponseRemediation Tasks.
2. Open any record in the Open or Under Investigation states.
3. Click the Update status link.  
   New vulnerable items appear under the Vulnerable Items tab.
