The ServiceNow®
Document Services application provides a broad range of services that are related to document management, such as creating, maintaining, and converting documents, as well as integrating with third parties like Microsoft SharePoint. Document Services was enhanced and updated in the Australia release.

## About Document Services {#document-services-rn__document-services-rn-highlights}

* Introduced granular roles to complete administrative configuration tasks without requiring the full admin role.
* Manage documents in Workspace with a comprehensive, user-friendly document management system that consolidates and enhances platform capabilities.
* Manage documents quickly and get complete visibility across all entity-level folders and business records in a single unified view.
* Streamline operations with drag-and-drop uploads and direct cloud integration, allowing file management through quick actions directly from file cards.
* Enhanced control provides teams with real-time visibility over the document life cycle via in-line metadata editing, automatic version tracking, granular permissions, and embedded workflow assignments on the file card.
* Manage documents using a common document viewer across Platform/UI16 and Workspace to access ServiceNow Otto features including document summary, voice Q\&A, smart redaction, along with manual redaction
* Enable Smart Document Skill across all tables by default, removing the need for manual configuration.
* Redact sensitive information in documents using AI-powered detection and policy-based redaction to help protect confidential data and support compliance requirements
* Generate audio summaries of documents and retrieve document information using voice queries, enabling a more accessible and hands-free document experience.

## Activation and other requirements

Activation information

:   Now Assist introduced AI on the platform. As that experience has evolved, there's a new name for the experience. ServiceNow Otto® is the conversational AI platform integrated into ServiceNow workflows. It provides agentic capabilities, supports multimodal interactions across web, mobile, and messaging channels, and enables autonomous orchestration for cross-system workflows.
