To create an SR Ops team for the first time, users request the catalog item that is used to create new team. Import and configure the update set that includes the base-system catalog item and its supporting Integration Hub flows.

## About this process {#sro-quick-start-overview__section_ujg_npl_nbc}

An Integration Hub flow supports the team creation process and a subflow supports team updates. In the default flow, a System Administrator must approve requests to create a team. You can change the approver.

In this one-time procedure, you import and commit an update set that includes the catalog item and flows. You then configure the catalog item and flows to support your business processes. When you finish this process, team
members and managers will be able to start using SR Ops.

  Because global-scope components cannot be shipped as part of a ServiceNow Store application, you install the update set separately.
* **[Activate the quick-start team catalog item](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/JxcErZr7XOi3WWoWPxpu0Q)**
  To create an SR Ops team, users request a particular catalog item. You import and configure the base-system catalog item.
* **[Configure quick-start system properties](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/1uPbPOwGbHKHFkGn72fN5w)**
  Configure the system properties that support creation of SR Ops teams.
* **[Configure notifications and approval for team creation](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/jdoYXMI0ABxvbOeIcN19wQ)**
  The system sends an email to the requester of a new SR Ops team when the request is approved or rejected. You can configure the email messages and configure which user role can approve requests for a team.
* **[Set up the first SR Ops team](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/TdafkTGKJbihXE_48k~QyA)**
  To set up a team, you first request a team catalog item and then specify team members. If your request is approved, you are granted the sro_manager role. The first time that you set up a team, you do it in the Service Portal. For every subsequent team, you use a streamlined process in the SR Ops Workspace.
