# Create an alert policy

# Create an alert policy {#ariaid-title1}

Create an alert policy to associate with a notification channel. A policy is a group
of one or more conditions.

## Antes de Iniciar

Role required: evt_mgmt_integration

## Procedimento

1. Log in to the New Relic console.
2. Click the Alerts \& AI tab.
3. In the left navigation pane, click Policies.
4. On the policy index page, click New alert policy.
5. On the Create alert policy form, perform the following actions:  
   * ALERT POLICY NAME: Enter a name for the policy.
   * INCIDENT PREFERENCE: Select incident preference to define when alerts create incidents and how violations are grouped.

6. Click Create alert policy.
