# Create and use a custom data generator

# Create and use a custom data generator {#ariaid-title1}

The custom data generator enables you to define your won fields or add new ones to an existing dataset. By describing what each column represents and giving a few examples, the model can generate rich, domain-specific data
tailored to your needs, covering a wide range of use cases.

## Antes de Iniciar

Role required: sn_data_kit.admin

## Procedimento

1. Navigate to AllNow Assist Data KitHome.
2. Select the Synthetic datasets tab.
3. Select Generate dataset.
4. Select Use a custom generator.
5. Name your dataset.
6. Select a custom generator that you have already created or select Create custom generator.
7. On the form, fill in the fields.

   | Field | Description |

   | Name data generator | The name of the data generator. |
   | Describe what this data generator does | A description of the what the data generator is going to do. |
   | Select a skill to generate data | A skill from Now Assist Skill Kit that will use the data generator. |
   | Output name | The name for the output of the data generator. |

8. Select Save data generator and then select Next.
9. Select the custom data generator that you created.
10. Select Next.
11. Select a dataset to add data to.
12. Map the inputs of the skill to columns of the dataset that you selected by choosing a dataset value for each input.
13. Select Next.
14. Generate a preview.  
    The generator will randomly choose five records from the dataset and generate a preview.
15. Select Review Summary.
16. Select Start Generation.
