Get started with a Now Assist AI web agent by downloading and installing the ServiceNow Web Automation browser extension locally. The browser extension enables the web agent to interact with external
websites.

## Antes de Iniciar

* Your system administrator must set up at least one Now Assist AI web agent in the ServiceNow® instance you plan to connect to.
* Confirm the URL (hostname) of your ServiceNow instance. For example: <kbd class="ph userinput">https://<instance-name>.service-now.com/</kbd>. This URL is needed to connect to the ServiceNow instance and its Now Assist AI web agent.
* Role required: none. You must have permissions to download and install browser extensions in your Google Chrome browser.

## Por Que e Quando Desempenhar Esta Tarefa

Using the ServiceNow Web Automation browser extension, a Now Assist AI web agent opens a browser tab to navigate to third-party websites. Every user who wants to invoke a Now Assist AI web agent must install the browser extension locally, on their Google Chrome browser.

Download and install the extension from the Google Chrome webstore with the following procedure.

## Procedimento

1. Download the browser extension from the Google Chrome webstore by navigating to <https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/servicenow-rpa-chrome-ext/bnaofpgjajbimmicdiipemhmheafhgkb> then selecting Add to Chrome.
2. In your Google Chrome browser address bar, enter <kbd class="ph userinput">chrome://extensions/</kbd>.
3. On the Extensions page, complete the installation by setting the Developer mode toggle switch on, then selecting Load unpacked.
Leave Developer mode on. This setting is needed for the web agent to interact with external websites.
4. **Opcional:** Pin this extension's icon to the browser menu bar by opening Manage Extensions in Google Chrome, locating ServiceNow Web Automation, then selecting Pin to toolbar in the extension details.
5. Open the ServiceNow Web Automation extension, using the Now Assist icon if you have pinned it to the browser menu bar.
6. In the Enter your instance URL field of the extension, enter the hostname of the ServiceNow instance you want to connect to, in the format <kbd class="ph userinput">https://<instance-name>.service-now.com/</kbd>, then save.
7. Log in to the instance you configured, using your normal login procedure.
 Nota:
If any browser windows were already open on the instance, you might need to reload the windows to connect successfully to the browser extension.
