Set up a contact as a consumer by creating a single, unified profile that supports both the contact and consumer persona in the Customer Service Management (CSM) application.

## Overview of unified consumer {#setting-up-a-contact-as-a-unified-consumer__section_pb2_hqq_13c}

A unified consumer is a single user profile that combines both contact and consumer persona within Customer Service Management (CSM). This feature eliminates the need to create and manage separate consumer user accounts for individuals who function in both roles.
The following table describes the setup procedure for activating a unified consumer:{#setting-up-a-contact-as-a-unified-consumer__table_gwn_m3r_13c__entry__2}
