Apply rate limit to REST APIs to avoid excessive use or abuse of publicly available catalog items.

Role required: catalog_admin, web_service_admin

## Por Que e Quando Desempenhar Esta Tarefa

Rate limit restricts the uncontrolled creation of publicly available catalog items, mitigating risks associated with malicious actors and automated bots.

## Procedimento

1. Navigate to AllSystem Web ServicesRate Limit Rules.
2. Select New.  
3. On the REST API Rate Limit Rule form, fill in the fields.  
   For a description of the field values, see [Rate limit rule form for guest user access to catalog items](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/HdvJAhUlS2M5NXGjtawlpg "The REST API Rate Limit Rule form enables you to set the number of API requests in an hour by guest users.").
4. Select Submit.

## Resultado

A rate limit is applied to the publicly available APIs.
