# Associate an existing contact user with a consumer record

# Associate an existing contact user with a consumer record {#ariaid-title1}

Associate a contact with a consumer record in the Customer Service Management (CSM) application. After the association is done, you can access the Consumer Service Portal (CSP) as a consumer to search for information, create cases, and more.

## Antes de Iniciar

Role required: admin

## Procedimento

1. Navigate to AllCustomer ServiceCustomerContacts.
2. Select the contact from the contact record.
3. In the login details related list, select the User lookup icon ![Lookup icon.]() to open the list of consumer_contact.
4. On the contacts form, select the user to associate with the consumer record.  
   Nota:  
   If the unified consumer is activated, you can select the user type from the interceptor form.
5. Select Save.
