# Create a goal for an application strategy {#ariaid-title1}

After assessing the applications and deciding on strategies, set concrete goals to
maximize or minimize depending on the indicators for the selected fiscal period.

## Antes de Iniciar

Importante:  
Starting with the Xanadu release, the legacy goals module has been deprecated from Enterprise Architecture (formerly Application Portfolio Management). However, if you're an existing user of Enterprise Architecture (formerly Application Portfolio Management), you can still use the legacy goals module. If you're a new activation user, the legacy goals module isn't available.

You can leverage the same features by using the Enterprise Architecture Workspace. costs, and benefits for projects aligned to your organization's strategies trend
over time.

## Procedimento

1. Navigate to AllEnterprise ArchitectureHome and click Create in the Opportunities \& Solutions, Goals section.  
   You can also navigate by any of the following steps:
   * Enterprise ArchitectureApplication Portfolio AnalysisGoals and click New.
   * OrganizationGoals and click New.

2. Fill in the form fields.  
   For field information, see [New Goal form](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/IU7OEGATJHPMjInQsULY6w "Use the Goal form to create goals for your organizational strategic priorities.").
3. Click Save.
4. In the Recent Goals section, click the goal that you created and update the following fields:

5. Click Save.  
   You can view all the goals from the list in the Recent Goals section of the portal by clicking View all.

You can [create a program](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/m2PzUthB_YxkBhfbj1pprA "Create a program, link it to the goal that you created, and associate a program manager to the program. After you create a goal, you should have a program to achieve the goal that you created.")
to execute the goal.
