Use Build Agent, an autonomous AI agent, to create and update applications in ServiceNow Studio. Build Agent enables developers to perform intelligent, context-aware tasks within ServiceNow Studio through conversational interaction.

## Basic Build Agent workflow {#build-agent-in-servicenow-studio__section_ejy_4z3_23c}

The process of using Build Agent in ServiceNow Studio follows a general path.

1. The Build Agent chat interface opens automatically during a new ServiceNow Studio session. If it's not open already, select Open Build Agent from the lower right corner status bar.
2. Begin a conversation by prompting Build Agent to create or update an application.
3. Refine your application through conversational interaction, providing feedback and requesting changes as needed.
4. Roll back changes at any point using checkpoints created by Build Agent.
5. Mark the conversation Complete when you're satisfied with the application functionality.
6. Deploy the app through update sets, pipelines, or the Application Repository.
7. Reopen the conversation at any time to make further updates.

For more information, see [AI-assisted ServiceNow AI Platform development with Build Agent](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/DLeyL6SMWPrXQaYomXT0CQ "Build Agent is the primary AI-powered development tool that works directly with the ServiceNow AI Platform to help you build applications. It generates code based on natural language descriptions, suggests improvements, and automates repetitive development tasks while you retain control of your application.").

Deploying apps created using Build Agent follows the same process as any other app, depending on your company processes. You can deploy using update sets, pipelines, or the Application Repository.

For more information, see [Working with update sets in ServiceNow Studio](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/Rc3JoXJiQsdxXzFb6LOHLA "An update set is a group of configuration changes that can be moved from one instance to another. This feature allows administrators to group a series of changes into a named set and then move them as a unit to other systems for testing or deployment."), [Working with pipelines in ServiceNow Studio](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/fnN34UEyYdsoeN_qG9tYXg "Pipelines enable you to automate the propagation and installation of your applications from one instance to another. As an admin, you can manage app deployment requests coming from ServiceNow Studio in the App Engine Management Center (AEMC)."), and [Working with the Application Repository in ServiceNow Studio](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/HyZtnxmpR5r0yEYNIBPHHw "After you develop and test a custom application in ServiceNow Studio, you can make the application available to company instances by publishing it to the ServiceNow Application Repository. The Application Repository is a central repository for all scoped applications that are published by all ServiceNow customers.").

## Build Agent chat panel {#build-agent-in-servicenow-studio__section_lzl_t4y_j3c}
