Assign the correct role before using the Now Assist for Creator app generation skill. The role you need depends on whether you are creating or editing an application.
To edit (not create) applications using app generation, assign the delegated_developer or now_assist_panel_user role. For more information, see [Delegated development and deployment](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/Utp_DuonEy0vWlmieLjUMw "Delegated development allows designated users without a system admin role to develop or deploy applications on the ServiceNow AI Platform.").

## Administrator \[admin\] role for app generation {#ariaid-title2}

The administrator role grants access to all system features, functions, and data, regardless of security constraints. For app generation, assign this role only when no more specialized role is available.

### Contains Roles

List of roles contained within the role.
* sn_employee.admin
* taxonomy_admin
* sn_ace.ace_user
* nlu_admin
* sn_hr_sp.esc_admin
* sn_templated_snip.template_snippet_admin
{#sns-app-gen-admin-role__ul_lj1_4r3_jcc}

### Groups

List of groups this role is assigned to by default.

None.

### Special considerations {#sns-app-gen-admin-role__na-section-feature-role-considerations}

Grant the admin role only when no more specialized role is available. Assigning the admin role unnecessarily expands user access beyond what the task requires.
