# Configuring Upgrade Console {#ariaid-title1}

Upgrade your production or sub-production instance effortlessly by following our guided steps.  
Note:  
It is recommended to clone the production instance to sub-production instance.

The following steps are in a nutshell to explain the overall configuration experience of Upgrade Console in a sub-production or a production instance.

## Configuring Upgrade Console {#um-configure__section_ufw_zzx_4dc}

Implement the following steps to configure Upgrade Console.

1. Navigate to AdminUpgrade ConsoleGuided upgrade.  
   Note:  
   The Guided upgrade tab shows up only when the upgrade is in progress. If there is no ongoing upgrade, you can select the required upgrade version and select Get started in the Get started with your upgrade section.
2. Complete the Pre-upgrade tasks to move to the Instance upgrade tasks.  
   Note:  
   Select either Mark as complete or Skip to move to the next task in the Pre-upgrade section.
3. Complete the Instance upgrade tasks.
4. Complete the Post-upgrade tasks to complete the guided upgrade.  
   Note:  
   You need to first complete the pre-upgrade tasks to move to the instance upgrade and post-upgrade tasks.
