# Split remediation task

User can split the Vulnerable items (VIs) from a remediation task record to create a
remediation task.

## Before you begin

Role required:
sn_otvr.remediation_owner

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllIndustrial WorkspaceOT Remediation TasksAssigned to Me.
2. From the list, select the VIs that you want to move to a new remediation task.
3. Click Split Task.
4. In the dialog that is displayed, fill the short description field.  
   The number of VIs you selected from the list is displayed.
5. In the dialog box, select Split Task again.
