The OT Discovery Collector provides you with enhanced features to create an inventory of your assets in your OT environment.

## OT Discovery Collector overview {#exploring-ot-collectors__cf-exploring-parent-overview}

The OT Discovery Collector is a lightweight software application that is used to discover devices within segments of the OT network where a Sensor can't reach. It is deployed deep within the network zones in your OT
environment. The Collector delivers native protocol support without requiring any appliance, making it fast to implement and easy to scale.

## Appliances records {#exploring-ot-collectors__appliances}

The OT Discovery Collector is listed on the Appliances page separately from the Discovery Sensor for OT. If you select the Collector name from the list, you can open that Collector record. You can perform the same actions with the Collector as you would with the Sensor. However, you
aren't required to register a Collector to the Discovery Console for OT.
