## Enable dark theme on your instance {#mobile-dark-theme__section_sym_dkr_3xb}

Administrators can enable dark mode on an instance using the `glide.ui.polaris.dark_themes_enabled` system property. Note:  
Dark theme is available as part of the Next Experience UI. You must activate this UI to enable dark theme. For details see [Considerations for activating Next Experience](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=next-experience-adoption-paths&version=australia&pubname=australia-platform-user-interface&ft:locale=en-US).

## Access dark theme in the mobile UI {#mobile-dark-theme__section_hg4_hkr_3xb}

As a user, you can switch between the default and dark theme in the Preferences section of the Settings tab.
