# Create promotion type

# Create promotion type {#ariaid-title1}

As a OEM or manufacturer, create a sales promotion type that is applicable to a specific set of promotions.

## Before you begin

Role required: manufacturing operations admin (sn_mfg_cmn.manufacturing_operations_admin) or sales promotion manager (sn_sales_prm_mgmt.sales_promotion_manager)

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllWorkspacesCSM/FSM Configurable Workspace.
2. Select the List icon.
3. Navigate to Sales Promotion SetupPromotion Types.
4. Select New.
5. On the form, fill in the fields.

   | Field | Definition |
   |-|-|
   | Name | Name of the promotion type. |
   | Input set | MCO input set. This field contains a set of questionnaires. To create an input set, see [Create promotion questionnaire](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/2bJpJ6TuE9nQtPA4grRohg "Create a promotion questionnaire. Configure the MCO input set."). |
   | Description | Short description of the sales promotion type. |

6. Select Save.
