# Devices required to deliver Walk-up Experience {#ariaid-title1}

Release version: Australia
Updated March 12, 2026
![](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/portal-asset/ico-clock) 1 minute to read
The functionality of the Walk-up Experience application relies on different kinds of devices. Users can check into an online walk-up queue using a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or mobile phone.

Onsite walk-up location users can check into the queue by scanning an employee badge or with a provided, typically stationary, tablet.
The following guidance describes what devices are needed and function best for each Walk-up Experience feature:

* Online check-in and appointment scheduling: Desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
* Onsite check-in: Tablet or a desktop.
* Onsite queue: Large flat screen TV. This feature is designed for larger display devices, such as a TV monitor. It isn't supported on a tablet.
* Onsite CSAT survey: Tablet or a desktop.
* Onsite badge reader: Badge scanning integration. For complete details, refer to [Badge Reader Integration for Walk-up Experience](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/yNdCT5aIEfDHJ4COeELYFw "Improve Walk-up Experience user satisfaction by using the Badge Reader Integration application at your on-site walk-up queue locations. Walk-up Experience users can scan an employee badge to check in to a queue, rather than entering credentials.").

Note:
To optimize the experience for Apple iOS-based tablet devices, save the opened Check-in and CSAT survey tabs to the homepage of the device. When selected from the homepage, they open in full screen.
