Manage the CSDM life cycle fields for the taxonomy nodes of your service portfolios. You can also use the Active check box to display or hide the life cycle fields in the Digital Portfolio Management (DPM) Workspace.

Role required: portfolio_admin or service_editor

| End of Life | * Retired * Canceled {#SPM2-lifecycle-fields__ul_wnt_w5x_2dc} Note: An end of life state would never be set to Expired. |

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllService Portfolio ManagementTaxonomy nodes.  
   Use the Service Portfolio view.
2. Open the taxonomy node that you want to activate the CSDM life-cycle fields.
3. Enter or update the following fields.

   | Field | Description |
   |-|-|
   | Lifecycle stage | The stage of the life cycle for the taxonomy node. The stages could be Ideation, Operational, or End of Life. |
   | Lifecycle stage status | The status of the life cycle for the taxonomy node. The system offers many options but a few of the most common are Draft, Design, In Use, On Hold, and Available. |
   | Active check box | The Active check box determines if the portfolio is displayed in the DPM Workspace. The check box is active (checked) by default but you can clear it anytime. |
