Request absence and provide coverage for a shift. You can also request over-time for a shift.

## About this task

You can schedule your own time off and suggest a suitable cover from among the fellow roster members. This helps the shift manager and on-call admin in planning shifts and making sure that members are available to respond to
incidents and escalations at all times.

## Before you begin

Role required: itil

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesService Operation Workspace.
2. Select the Schedule menu to view your calendar.  
   You can also do the following to view your calendar:
   * Navigate to WorkspacesService Operation Workspace.
   * Select Teams menu from home page and select a team.
   * Select Schedule tab to view all the schedules for the team.

3. Select a shift card and select ![More]() icon or right-click a shift card.  
4. Select Schedule absence to request absence for the shift and provide the following details:  
   * Member
   * All day toggle button
   * Start time and End time
   * Proposed cover
   * Notes

5. Select Schedule absence.
