# Subscribe to incident communication notifications {#ariaid-title1}

Subscribe to incident communication notifications to get periodic information about issues related to incident communication plans. The timely incident communication notification or incident alerts (IA) helps address issues
within the defined SLA.

## Before you begin

Role required: itil, ia_admin, or admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllSelf-ServiceMy Notification Preferences.
2. In the Notifications section, select Advanced preferences.  
   The notification preferences page opens in a new tab.
3. In the filter section, select <kbd class="ph userinput">Incident Communication Plan</kbd> in the Category field.  
   The following notification options appear for incident communication plan: IA Actions Taken, IA Cancelled, IA Resolved Or Closed, and New IA Raised.
4. Toggle the notification option for which you want to subscribe to receive notifications.
5. In the filter section, repeat the same steps for Delivery channels, Active/Inactive notifications, Email Digest available, or Subscribable Notifications.
6. Under Custom Notification, toggle the options to to subscribe or unsubscribe from a custom notification.
7. Under Delivery Channels, toggle the options to subscribe or unsubscribe from a notification.
8. Select the channel name to add a schedule for the notification and to filter the notification conditions as required.  
   Note:  
   Apply filter to your notification channel to avoid receiving every notification for the subscription.  
9. Select Save.  
   You are subscribed to incident communication notification.
