# Create a hyperlink card in Desktop Assistant {#ariaid-title1}

Create a hyperlink card in Desktop Assistant to provide direct access to a targeted site, page, or records.

## Before you begin

Confirm
that the DEX
Desktop Assistant \[sn_dex_desktop\] application has been installed. For more information, see [Install Application and Device Health](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/3Ei~nK2qqh_Lci8rn9XW7A "Digital End-User Experience (DEX) is available with activation of the Digital End-User Experience [sn_dex] plugin. You must have the admin role to install the DEX product [sn_dex]. During installation, Application and Device Health is included as a component in DEX.") and [Download and install Desktop Assistant](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/dI4Ux4b0gNBb2xc~OSTTmw "Download and install Desktop Assistant by using operating system-specific installer commands, Desktop Assistant installers, or endpoint management solutions.").

Role required: sn_dex_desktop.admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllDesktop AssistantConfigurationCreate Hyperlink Card.
2. On the form, fill in the fields.

   | Field | Description |
   |-|-|
   | Name | Unique name for the card title. |
   | Header | Unique name for individual pages in the card. This name appears as the header or title of the related details page. |
   | URL | URL of the site or page that opens when you select the card. Note: The available options are: * Relative URL: Setting the URL to /esc automatically opens the Employee Center for the same ServiceNow instance that Desktop Assistant is connected to. * Public URL: The full URL. For example, <https://www.servicenow.com/>. {#create-hyperlink-card__ul_blx_yg5_mwb} |
   | Description | Short description of the card. |

3. Add a URL to the card.
   1. Select the Edit URL icon ![]().
   2. In the URL field, enter the URL.
   3. Select the Lock URL icon ![]().

4. **Optional:** Add an image to the card.
   1. In the Icon field, select Click to add.
   2. Select Choose File and select an image from your system.
   3. Select OK.

   Note:  
   Uploaded images for icons are automatically resized to 48 px for consistency across all cards.
5. Select Submit.
