# Submit a time card for a demand task {#ariaid-title1}

Record and submit the time spent on a demand task to calculate actual cost and effort. The reported hours are used to track work performed and support demand planning.

## Before you begin

Role required: timecard_user

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllTime SheetsTime Sheet Portal.
2. Create a time card.

   | Assignment type | Actions |
   | Demand task assigned to you | 1. Navigate to the necessary demand task under Tasks. 2. Select the Add to Time Sheet link. {#submit-time-card-for-demand-task-dw__ol_wxm_2ry_3hb} |
   | Demand task assigned to you as an additional assignee | 1. Select the Add unassigned tasks to Time Sheet link next to Logged Time Cards. 2. In the Add unassigned tasks to Time Sheet dialog box, search for and select the demand task from the Select Task list. {#submit-time-card-for-demand-task-dw__ol_gpz_l2g_hhb} |

3. From the Resource plan drop-down, select a resource plan.
4. Provide the hours for each day spent working on the demand task.
5. Select Submit.

## Result

The time card moves to the Submitted state and is sent to an approver for review.
