# Summarize demands with the demand summarization skill {#ariaid-title1}

Summarize demand records using the demand summarization skill. The skill reviews the demand fields and related lists and helps create a clear summary of the demand.

## Before you begin

Important:  
This generative AI skill is turned on by default. The skill will be automatically available to appropriate role users for the application. For more information, see [AI agents, skills, and agentic workflows on by default](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/access?context=now-assist-skills-on-by-default&version=australia&pubname=australia-intelligent-experiences&ft:locale=en-US).

Role required: it_demand_user, it_demand_manager, sn_ppm_read

If you have custom roles that require access to this skill, update the ACLs (access control lists) for those roles that require access.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesPortfolio Planning Workspace.
2. Select the Demands icon ![]().
3. Open a demand from the List page.
4. Select AI Overview from the navigation menu.
5. Select Summarize.  
   Note:  
   * The summary of the record is auto-generated for demands if the skill trigger is selected as Automatic.
   * The summary is initiated when users select the Summarize action on a demand record if the skill trigger is selected as User trigger.

## Result

The executive summary generated by AI is displayed.  
Important:  
Generative AI may produce inaccurate or incomplete information. Always validate AI-generated content.

Note:  
Select the copy icon to copy the generated summary for further use.
