Use the refine records skill to shorten or elaborate text in demand records, helping demand managers and users improve clarity and completeness before saving.

## Before you begin

Important:  
This generative AI skill is turned on by default. The skill will be automatically available to appropriate role users for the application. If custom roles require access to this skill, update the ACLs (access control lists) for those roles.

Role required: it_demand_manager, it_demand_user

## About this task

The refine records skill uses other fields in the form to generate content for rich or long text fields. You can select existing text or enter new text, then
shorten or elaborate it without losing key information.{#improve-data-quality-using-the-refine-records-skill-ppw__improve-data-quality-using-the-refine-records-skill-context-1}

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesPortfolio Planning Workspace.
2. Select the Demands icon ![]().
3. Open a demand from the List page.
4. Select Details from the navigation menu.
5. In a text field of your record, select the text to refine.  
   For example, select the text in the Description field of a demand.

6. Refine the selected text.
   1. Open the Refine with AI menu.
   2. Select Shorten or Elaborate.

7. Select Replace to update the text field with the AI-generated content.  
   The text field updates with the AI-generated content.
