# Create work items for sprints in CWM

# Create work items for sprints in CWM {#ariaid-title1}

Create and add new work items to a sprint directly from the Sprint planning view of Collaborative Work Management.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_cwm.cwm_user

## Procedure

1. Navigate to WorkspacesCollaborative Work Management.
2. From a Space, select a Board that you're performing sprint planning for.
3. Select the Sprint planning tab.
4. From the sprint header, select the Add item (![Add item icon.]()) icon.  
5. Select the work item type from the Item type drop-down list.  
   The default work item type available is Task. You can enable other types such as Story or create a custom type. 6. On the form, fill in the details for the item such as short description, start and end dates, story points, and others.
7. Select Submit.
