The value management lifecycle starts with the creation of the Objectives and outcomes that are high-level goals tied to measurable outcomes that help illustrate value over time.

Understand and measure the value you receive from the ServiceNow products in the same instance where your applications live. By default, this cycle is executed on a yearly basis, although deviations of this time frame are possible by
exception.

To access the objectives and outcomes in Impact Delivery Instance, navigate to ImpactValue ManagementObjectives and Outcomes.

Enhanced outcomes are available only for IT Service Management on the Impact Delivery Instance. They reflect updated outcome definitions aligned to current platform capabilities and are recommended for new setups on these products from Q2 2026 onward.

## Outcome Model {#objectives-and-outcomes-in-impact-delivery-instance__section_ers_ljy_ckc}

Every outcome belongs to either a Standard outcome model or Enhanced outcome model. This model is indicated in an Outcome model column alongside each outcome's success metric, making clear which definition applies to each outcome. For details on what each model covers, where insights are available, and how to choose between them, see [Outcome versioning in Impact](https://servicenow-prod.fluidtopics.net/4C6qXIa8NP~pq0mCKoRV9A "Outcome versioning distinguishes between the standard and enhanced sets of outcome definitions in the Impact Value App, helping you track performance consistently and interpret your results accurately.").
Note:
For existing IT Service Management users, the Aug 2026 release removes any Standard IT Service Management outcome that is not in a tracking state. Outcomes currently tracked remain fully available, alongside the Enhanced outcomes newly introduced for IT Service Management. Active tracking is unaffected and only outcomes that were not already being tracked are removed.
