# Delete a normalization strategy

# Delete a normalization strategy {#ariaid-title1}

You can delete a normalization strategy only if it is in draft state. Deleting a strategy removes it permanently, so confirm it is no longer in use before proceeding.

## Before you begin

* Confirm that the smart assessment scoring plugin \[com.sn_smart_scoring\] is installed.
* Role required: sn_smart_asmt.template_manager and sn_smart_asmt.assessment_admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllSmart Assessment EngineAdministrationNormalization Strategies.
2. On the Scoring normalization strategies list, select the normalization strategy you want to delete.
3. On the top panel select Move to draft.  
   To delete a normalization strategy, it must be in a draft state. If the strategy is currently published, you must first move it back to a draft state.
4. On the top panel select Delete.  
   A confirmation message with a warning is displayed, review it carefully.
5. Select Delete.
